Breakfast Run, June 2014

Sue and Derek Manning asked us some time ago if we would like to have a breakfast run to Mollydooker Winery, and the instant reply was, of course, YESSS!

Well, no one was disappointed. Mollydooker is a beautiful spot, and their wines are mostly aimed at the premium end of the market – just our territory(?) A great breakfast on the terrace was followed by a quick course in viticulture and wine making, and a tour of the impressive winery facility. Then, on to a spot of tasting, followed by some purchases.

The early winter morning was crisp and fine – spot on for touring an open car on the great roads we are privileged to have at our disposal, and we made good use of them.

It’s hard to decide what was the highlight – magnificent hills roads, the winery view across McLaren Vale, the wines themselves, the hosts, the great company…?

Thanks to Sue and Derek (and the lovely people at Mollydooker) for this day out.
