Peter Taylor
1950 - 2015

It was with absolute shock that we heard of the sudden passing away of Peter Taylor on Friday 23rd October 2015.
Peter was a founding member of the Fiat Lancia Car Club of SA, and has been a driving force in the club during it's entire history. He held many committee positions over the years, but is most remembered recently as our honorary "President for Life" due to his repeated attempts to hand over the role each year, but eagerness to keep up the work when pressured to remain. The relaxed and informal nature of the FLCCSA which sets it apart from some of the more formal clubs is due mainly to Peter's style, and it will remain.
Peter was much more than a Fiat enthusiast though (he even had a liking for certain British makes, betraying his heritage). He was a machinist and a mechanic, a driver, a father and a grandfather, a singer, a musician, a comedian - and he was good at all of them (with the last one in a little doubt, as you will know if you heard any of his jokes).
But most of all, he was a friend to many, many people, and the gap his death has left in our lives is enormous.

Peter's funeral was held at Centennial Park on Thursday 5th November, and was attended by many varied people, fittingly because he touched so many. The car (and especially Fiat) fraternity was very well represented, including some of our Fiat brothers and sisters from the Victorian Fiat Club; we thank them for travelling all that way to stand with us at this difficult time.
