I have owned this car for approx. 8 years and previous owner restored it about 2 years prior. The bodywork is very good & I have not touched it since ownership. It has no sign of rust, dents or scratches.
As with any older car purchases, several improvements were needed and Peter Taylor helped me for 3 years to make it an even better X1/9. This included changing to a 1500cc motor with new cam belt, fitted at 143,900 kms in Jan 2103. A better gearbox with all good synchros was installed along with new brake, clutch master cylinders and clutch slave cylinder. The petrol tank was replaced with a hole less one, a pair of cloth seats in good condition installed and the carburetor reconditioned. I believe the previous owner replaced all bushes & brake hoses. The brake pads are fairly new, now with excellent rotors and the fluid changed to Bendix blue 2K ago. Previous owner also had KONI’s & heavier springs fitted and the steering rack reconditioned. Upgrades also include a twin fan radiator from an 88 EFI X1/9 fitted with an override switch for extreme heat. More recent improvements include, an electric fuel pump, electronic ignition & a new 2” sports exhaust system which includes purpose made X1/9 headers. This car has a nice CD player & the dash was reskinned in the restoration. It has Black Bertone ‘Redline’ mags (x5), of which 4 are fitted with brand new 185/60/13 tyres.
Many spare parts as well & has only done around 7,500 kms in close to the last 5 years.
